Globe Earth Problems
The globe earth model is not without its problems including problems with the horizon distance not matching its predictions, our inability to detect the motion the earth is supposed to be experiencing and I am sure there are more that I will add here later…
I believe it’s always good to have someone open minded like you to bring up challenges from both perspectives and explain it meaningfully. I’m not a flat earther at all or globe earther(formerly I was).. I consider myself to be a truth seeker and looking for answers to life’s biggest problems. It’s interesting to look at both systems from an open minded perspective. But both views have unanswered questions that needs to be perfectly explained and I would like to know the answer on whether scientist got it wrong and we’ve been lied to this whole time about the globe, or that ancient wisdom (religion) got it right this whole time.
I’m very curious about the arguments for a flat earth. I have tried my best to research but am only really able to find reasons that the earth could be round. (It took a long time to find this website.) One of the reasons I found for a spherical earth is:
When a lunar eclipse happens the shadow on the moon is round.
If someone could please explain this to me I would greatly appreciate it.

There are other objects than spheres that can cast round (circular) shadows, e.g. disks cilinders and ellipsoids.
However, only spheres consistently cast a circular shadow on a plane perpendicular to the light source.
A disk world could cast a circular shadow, but only if the moon where at zenith (or nadir, but then you wouldn’t see the eclipse), at least in my view of the solar system. In any other case, it would be an ellipse.
I have seen quite a few lunar eclipses, non of them at zenit, but always the shadow on the moon had round edges. I am also curious if anyone has an explanation for this.

Like your post, but it remains an open question if a lunar eclipse is as claimed! Lunar eclipses have been observed when both the sun and moon are fully and clearly observed in the sky simultaneously. Perhaps the lunar shadow results from some other cause.
Yes. But this occurs when sun and moon are on opposite horizons. Because, as you know I am sure, lunar eclipses can only occur on the full moon day, At that time sun and moon are directly in line with each other, so on the full moon the moon rises in the east as the sun is setting in the west. Now if lunar eclipse happens at the moment when sun is setting and moon is rising the moon will be red when it is rising because the eclipse is happening at that moment.
This is a rare occurrence when the lunar eclipse happens to be going on as the moon rises and probably possible when the moon is setting also. But it can not happen that sun and moon can be in the sky at the same time on a full moon day except like this, at the time sun is setting, moon is rising, and also at the time moon is setting sun is rising.
So it is still conceivable that this is possible with the globe earth model. This is not proof that the earth is flat.

Per globe theory, Sun and Moon are always in line and except on the lunar eclipse the sun always lights up half the lunar surface ( hemisphere ). Since the same lunar surface always faces Earth the lit half of the lunar surface changes continuously as it changes relative to the sun.
It seems impossible to me that both sun and moon would be simultaneously above Earth’s during a supposed lunar eclipse. Since both objects appear in the sky simultaneously with nothing visibly and /or empirically obstructing light from transversing the space between them, it takes enormous conjecture including light bending probably to conclude the Earth somehow does.
I think you don’t read and of course don’t understand the globe earth model. Sun and Moon are not both above the earth. Sun and moon are both on the horizon. That is the only possibility of seeing the sun and the moon in the sky at the same time on the full moon day. On the full moon day moon is rising as the sun is setting. And if the eclipse just happens to be occurring at the moment, moon is rising eclipsed. It can happen on moon setting also.
But it is absolutely not possible to have “the sun and moon simultaneously above the earth during a lunar eclipse.” Lunar eclipse only happens on the full moon and on the full moon sun and moon are never above the earth together. Only time they are together in the sky is when they are on the opposite horizons rising or setting.
During the Selenelion both sun and moon appear above Earth’s surface with no obstruction between them. Whether or not sun or moon are above the Earth is a matter of opinion and I don’t see why any rational person would bind their own statements by someone else’s ill-formed opinion. The certainly both appear above Earth’s surface with apparent no obstruction between them.
On the full-moon day, that is the only day lunar eclipse is possible, the moon is rising at the same time the sun is setting. So it is not possible to have the moon and the sun above the surface of the earth at the same time. Moon will be rising and sun will be setting. Both will be at the opposite horizons. And we know there are optical effects around the horizon. So it is not at all impossible for the earth to be between sun and moon while we can see sun and moon rising and setting on the opposite horizons.
So sun and moon during lunar eclipse are never above the earth at the same time, one is setting and the other is rising. So there is a short time when you can see both, but they are both at the opposite horizons, rising or setting.
So it is incorrect to say sun an moon are above the surface of the earth at the same time. They are on opposite horizons and one is setting and the other is rising, keeping themselves 180 degrees apart on full moon.

What? This confused nonsense contradicts itself. For both sun and moon to appear simultaneously to an observer means by definition they both appear above the Earth’s surface, otherwise they’d be blocked by the same. You only claim otherwise, because you want to assert the Earth could be a ball and you know this fact contradicts that.
Further, while there are refractive effects due apparently to Earth’s dome ( a few gas molecules can’t account for it, some say gravitational lensing this too has problems, imo ) they pull celestial objects toward the horizon not higher above it. This has been shown before in my previous posts using the golf ball analogy. You should look it up.
FEF you never look at the sky. That is the problem with flat earthers. They never look at the sky. You can see the exact situation once a month that occurs on a Lunar eclipse. You can’t see the eclipse every month of course, but Lunar eclipse happens on the full-moon day. On the full moon day sun and moon are never above the earth at the same time, You can check it on any full moon day. As sun is setting, moon is rising. So they can never both be above the surface of the earth. One is rising as the other is setting.

This makes little sense to me because you can often see both the moon and the sun in the sky at the same time quite apart from the Selenelion!!!
Why would it be impossible for both sun and moon to appear above Earth’s surface on the Selenelion when they often appear together on normal days.?Well because you have a theory that on the Selenelion the Earth blocks sunlight from reaching the moon. This you think despite the fact that no sharp shadow edge is seen on the lunar surface from what I’ve read during the lunar eclipse.

You are confused. Yes. Of course. You can see sun and moon in the sky at the same time often. But it is only possible to have a lunar eclipse on the full moon. And on the full moon the sun and moon can not be both above the horizon. They are opposite each other in the sky. So as the sun is setting the moon is rising. So, yes, for a short time you can see the sun and moon in the sky, but sun is setting and moon is rising. They are both on the horizon. And if it happens that there is a lunar eclipse happening at this time you can see sun, moon at the same time, but earth is in the middle. So it does not disprove the idea that lunar eclipse is caused by the earth being between the sun and the moon.
